Darlington Vintage Car Rally is back
OVER 150 vintage vehicles will be on display in Darlington this weekend.
The Darlington Vintage Vehicle Rally returns on Saturday after being canceled in 2020.
Instead of focusing on the Market Square, it will be spread around the city’s pedestrian zone, in East Row, West Row, Northgate and Blackwellgate.
It will include around 150 vintage cars and a selection of motorcycles, including a number of Rolls-Royce, Morris Minor and MG.
Organizer Peter Bulmer, who runs the Waterhouse Kitchen in Darlington Indoor Market, said, âI do this to help businesses in town and to help footfall.
âDue to Covid and the used market, we are a bit more dispersed in the pedestrian zone, but we have 150 cars plus motorcycles to come.
âPeople who come in general like to come very much. Normally the gatherings take place in fields in the middle of nowhere, but it’s in the city center so people can go to the shops.
He added, âWe couldn’t do it without the board doing all the security and providing some funding. And Rotarians help with the preparation.
The event will take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Prizes are awarded in 10 categories.
