Famous car model returns next year

The Ford Bronco returns and customers line up to get their hands on one.

This is possibly the most famous Ford Bronco in history, from 1994, owned by OJ Simpson’s former good friend and teammate Al Cowlings. Ford stopped making the Bronco a few years later.

Fast forward to 2021. Last Thursday, in an earnings conference call, Ford announced interest in the Broncos has exceeded the company’s most optimistic projections. More than 150,000 customers have paid $ 100 to reserve a seat to order the 2021 Ford Bronco.

Looks very little like the famous Bronco of 25 years ago.

If you are a fan of cars, which car would you like it to come back? I think people have a fondness for their first cars, or maybe the cars they dreamed of owning when they were young teenagers. My first car was a 1976 Triumph Spitfire. Please don’t bring it back. As a guy who owned one told me when we were both sitting in stopped traffic, each of our cars was overheating: “We spend more time under these cars than driving.”

Here is an earlier version of the Spit, this one dating from 1962.

Imagine driving that car through a Maine winter, ha ha. Good luck with that.

I’ve had a lot of cars since. And while I’m not a “car freak,” it’s always interesting to see new models come out and watch all the vehicles evolve.
