Middleboro COA to Host Classic Car Cruise Evening


The Middleborough Council on Aging will be hosting a Classic Car Night Cruise on Thursday, September 30 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the COA grounds.

Many car enthusiasts will be on site with their classic and rare cars. Bring your classic or hop off and walk the grounds to take in the views and chat with our special car owners. DJ Dogs will feature hot dogs and specialty snacks, the Mel’s Ice Cream truck will sell old-fashioned treats, and COA staff will host a bake sale table with wrapped treats. An outdoor dining area will be set up. Local band “Too Much Fun” will be playing ldies throughout the evening to keep things lively.

“This is our first evening cruise and we are very happy to share this event with the community,” said Kathy Medeiros, COA Activities Coordinator. “If all goes well, maybe we can make it an annual event.”

Craft vendors will offer jewelry, clothing, hats, glass mosaics, and more. Jams and jellies, crowns of ribbons, artisanal soaps, ecological and sustainable products will also be available. A local author will offer comics and stickers for children of all ages. Middleborough Services to the Elderly will be hosting a 50/50 raffle to raise funds for The Good Times Club, ACO’s adult support day program that provides therapeutic, social and recreational activities to the elderly, as well as ‘a respite for their caregivers.

“We hope to see a lot of new faces here on Cruise Night. We would like to promote broader community engagement with the Council on Aging, ”said Holly Begley, Executive Director.

The Middleboro Council on Aging will host an overnight classic car cruise on Thursday, September 30.

Owners of classic and rare cars should come to 558 Plymouth Street to park and show their vehicles in the Council on Aging parking lot. All visitors participating in the event must park at Oliver Mill Park, 8 Nemasket St, or KOA Campground, 438 Plymouth St, and take our free shuttles to the event. Social distancing and masking are encouraged. According to the CDC, masks are mandatory for all people over 2 years old on the bus.

No rainy date is expected.
