RML Group caters to classic car enthusiasts with its short-wheelbase coupe

Classic car design is more impactful than ever, with automakers regularly revisiting their vintage catalog for inspiration. Contemporary vehicles may be superior in performance and aerodynamics, but the timeless appeal of silhouettes like this short wheelbase from RML Group may even surpass that.

That’s not up for debate given how they engineered the short wheelbase with modern methods. This means that despite the old school look, the construction uses the best materials you can get on the market today. Plus, distinct styling aside, this coupe is more than enough for the motorsport enthusiast.

For starters, under the hood of this mechanical masterpiece is a 485 horsepower Ferrari V12. The engine bay is at the front of the short wheelbase which also comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. Automotive purists can enjoy full control over their shifts to hit 180 mph.

RML claims the short wheelbase can hit 60 mph from a standstill in under four seconds. The manufacturer is not only betting on beauty and a solid powertrain. Obviously, optimal weight management can do wonders for more sporty rigs.

As such, beneath the outer layer of its sleek outline is carbon fiber. Another wonderful aspect that the company addresses is the interior volume. Taller occupants were always clueless when it came to exquisite rides like the short wheelbase. RML assures owners that up to just over 6ft can fit comfortably.

The cabin decor is exquisite and offers premium features. Electronically adjustable seats and steering column, a hidden touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless connectivity and an air conditioning system designed to withstand the sweltering temperatures of the Middle East. Only 30 examples of the short wheelbase will see production.
