Seal Beach Classic Car Show is Saturday: See Road Closures
SEAL BEACH, Calif. — The 34th annual Seal Beach Classic Car Show, featuring more than 500 hot rods, custom cars, antiques and classic vehicles, takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street in Seal Beach.
And with the spring extravaganza, there are road closures.
The Seal Beach Police Department reports that the following streets will close at 5 a.m. Saturday, April 30:
- Main Street between Pacific Coast Highway and Ocean Avenue;
- Ocean Avenue between 10th and 8th streets;
- Central Avenue between 10th and 8th;
- Electric Avenue between 10th and 8th.
The 534 cars will enter the show via Ocean Avenue, Central Avenue and Electric Avenue beginning at 6 a.m., and the streets will reopen about an hour after the event ends at 3 p.m., the department said.
Among the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce’s annual flagship events, the car show brings a slew of classic cars to the community, along with award shows. Spectators can sit in the restaurant parking lots, while enjoying the vehicle display, a meal, drinks and treats, organizers said.
Public parking is located on the grounds of the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station.
Entrance to the Naval Weapons Station parking lot is from the 100 block of Seal Beach Boulevard, south of Pacific Coast Highway at Liberty Gate.
Organizers are asking attendees not to go to the main gate of Naval Weapons Station or the Navy gate at Westminster Avenue and Kitts Highway.
Shuttle service will be provided from the Naval Weapons Station to Main Street.
Those dropping off passengers should do so at the corner of Electric Avenue and Main Street, continue south on Electric Avenue to Seal Beach Boulevard and park at Naval Weapons Station Liberty Gate, organizers said.
