Shurooq Brings Back Classic Car Festival With More Events

As the UAE turns 50 this weekend, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is bringing back its popular Classic Car Festival for a second edition, along with a fun route of National Day celebrations that citizens and residents will enjoy with their whole family at several Shurooq destinations in Sharjah.
The 2nd edition of the Classic Car Festival, organized in collaboration with the Sharjah Old Cars Club, kicks off with a vintage car parade on December 3, from the House of Wisdom to Al Majaz Waterfront. Themed “Cars & Coffee,” the festival will take place in five of Shurooq’s destinations, showcasing a priceless and comprehensive collection of classic and vintage cars on public display over five more weekends through March 4, 2022.
The festival will also host several workshops and creative activities for car enthusiasts, families and children in each participating Shurooq destination, as well as several traditional entertainment shows.
Coffee lovers will have the opportunity to sample unusual blends at these events, as a variety of specialty coffees at participating Shurooq destinations will include promotions on their premium F&B offerings.
Shurooq has handpicked the following hospitality and leisure destinations in the most scenic areas of the emirate to serve as the backdrop for this festival.
On December 24, the ‘Moon Retreat Classic’ will be held, followed by the ‘Al Montazah Parks Classic’ on January 7, 2022, the ‘Kalba Waterfront Classic’ on January 28, the Khorfakkan Beach Classic ‘on February 18, and finally,’ Al Qasba Classic ‘on March 4. All these events will last four hours, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

To celebrate the UAE’s 50th Year, Shurooq has also announced a series of vibrant cultural and entertainment events for people of all age groups, which will be held at seven of its family-friendly leisure destinations in Sharjah. , namely, Al Qasba, Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Montazah Parks, Heart of Sharjah, Mleiha, Kshisha Park and Khorfakkan beach, December 1-3, 4-10 p.m.
A series of entertainment activities and performances will be held in Sharjah’s Kshisha Park and Khorfakkan Beach from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on December 1 and 2, respectively. On December 3, performances and activities will travel to three other Shurooq destinations: Al Majaz Waterfront, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Al Montazah Parks, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and ‘Al Qasba, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
On December 2, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., an Emirati band will perform traditional songs and dances of UAE patriotism and appreciation at Kshisha Park, Mleiha and the heart of Sharjah, followed by performances on December 3 in Al Majaz seafront (4â6 pm), Al Montazah (6 pm â 8 pm), Al Qasba (8 pm â 10 pm) and Khorfakkan beach (4 pm â 10 pm) parks.
A special ‘Exhibition of 50th’ exhibit which tells the inspiring stories of the founding fathers of the United Arab Emirates is also part of the festivities, which will take place from December 1-4. Six Shurooq Destinations – Flag Island, Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Montazah Parks, Heart of Sharjah, Kshisha Park and Khorfakkan Beach will host this biographical exhibit.
