Silvergate and Fallbrook Vintage Car Club Celebrate Dads

FALLBROOK – On Thursday, June 17, members of the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club presented 15 vintage cars to the Fallbrook Silvergate retirement residence for display in a car show associated with a Silvergate Father’s Day BBQ.

Bill Kemper gives Silvergate Business Director Carrie Hensley a ride in a Model T Hack.

Silvergate provided a free barbecue meal of steak, chicken, corn on the cob, beans and ice cream that the FVCC members really enjoyed. Entertainment during the meal was provided by “Frankie and the Invisibles” who played many classic rock and roll tunes from the 50’s and 60’s and he was good. (Frankie is a one man electric guitar, which is why the other players in his title were invisible).

Club members sat at tables under easy tops adorned with cutouts of vintage cars containing goodies, enjoying the food and music, and chatting with residents attending the event, answering their questions.

The residents really enjoyed going out, attending the event and seeing the cars. The event was planned as a Father’s Day event to celebrate Dads, but all residents enjoyed seeing and hearing about the cars and several expressed familiarity with some of the vintage cars on display.

Club members also had a blast staying to close the event.
