Skoda has launched the all-new fourth-generation Fabia, which will hit the market in late September for £ 14,905.

It will arrive in UK dealerships towards the end of the year, when the first deliveries to customers will take place.

The new supermini is based on the VW Group’s MQB-AO platform, alongside the Seat Ibiza and VW Polo, although Skoda engineers stretched the bodywork to make the Fabia the largest car in its series. category.

In line with other recently launched Skoda models, the Fabia features an all-new interior with a central floating touchscreen and digital instruments.

The Fabia can be specified with certain comfort features that were previously reserved for higher tier vehicles, including a heated windshield and dual-zone air conditioning with air vents for the rear passengers.

The UK range will include the S, SE Comfort, SE L and Color Edition trim levels, with a sporty Monte Carlo variant to follow later.

The entry-level S trim includes LED headlights, Front Assist, pedestrian protection and Lane Assist, including roadside detection. It also has DAB, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and air conditioning.

SE Comfort (from £ 16,795) adds 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights and a two-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel. SE customers will also benefit from rear parking sensors, height-adjustable front seats, adjustable lumbar support in the front seats, and a handbrake lever and leather-wrapped shift knob.

The Fabia Color Editions (from £ 17,495) come with 16-inch black alloy wheels, tinted windows and exterior mirrors painted in the color of the roof. There’s an infotainment system with an eight-inch color screen, digital instrument cluster, and keyless entry.

The top-of-the-range Fabia SE L (from £ 18,980) features 16-inch alloy wheels, comfort seats, additional chrome accents, ambient lighting, 9.2-inch infotainment screen, air conditioning and a front central armrest.

Skoda says the SE Comfort and SE L trims will appeal to drivers looking for “excellent driving and a well-appointed interior with luxury touches, offering excellent value for money.” Color Edition focuses on style that can be personalized and the latest technology for “gadget-oriented shoppers”.

Five petrol engines will be offered, starting with an entry-level 1.0-liter three-cylinder with 65 hp or 85 hp. Turbocharged 95bhp and 110bhp versions will also be available, along with a top-of-the-line 150bhp 1.5-liter unit.

Skoda claims that the body of the new Fabia has been developed to reduce drag which, in conjunction with a new active grille shutter, leads to improved fuel consumption, reduced CO2 emissions and reduced noise in the vehicle. the cabin.

Improved driver assistance functions, including Travel Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and the VW Group lane keeping package, will be offered for the first time on the Fabia.

This can be activated at the touch of a button and combines several assistance systems to automatically adjust the car’s speed and keep it in the lane. There is also a blind spot monitoring system that warns the driver of vehicles up to 70 meters away.

In line with the rest of the Skoda range, the new Fabia implements a variety of “Simply Clever” features, designed to make everyday use easier. These include an ice scraper in the fuel filler flap with tread depth gauge, a parking ticket holder on the A-pillar and an umbrella in the driver’s door.
